Severe Service Valves and Solutions for Pressure Hydrometallurgy

Oschatz supplies, among other things, highly efficient waste heat boiler systems for fluidized bed roasting processes in zinc, pyrite (gold), and copper production. These systems reliably cool dust-laden roasting furnace gases to approx. 350 °C and are equipped with cooled tube walls, evaporator bulkheads, and convection bundles. A proven mechanical cleaning system ensures a long service life for the boilers – without production-related downtime. The result: maximum plant availability, optimized heat recovery process, and increased cost-effectiveness.

We manufacture functionalized silica designed to recover PGMs from liquid streams—even at extremely low concentrations (ppms or ppb). Unlike other absorbents, our silica does not capture base metals like copper. Ligands with high affinity for PGMs are bonded to the silica, ensuring selective recovery while other metals pass through.

Our technology works without pre-treatment, across a wide pH range (0–8.5), and in various media including water, HCl, sulfuric acid, solvents, and more. It tolerates temperatures over 100°C.

We offer a PHASE program to test your stream and identify the best silica for maximum loading—up to 80g PGM per kilo. Free test kits are available, and we can guide you through the process if you prefer to run it yourself.
