Course Description

This course is an introduction to multiphase flow control, covering key first principles, design considerations, and industry best practices for handling gas-liquid-solid mixtures in pipelines and processing facilities, with a focus on autoclave systems in hydrometallurgical processes. Specifics topics include supersonic multiphase flow, erosion mechanics, and autoclave overpressure control. This topic is highly relevant to both hydrometallurgy symposia (critical minerals and precious metals), since multiphase compressible flow is central to the major process used for critical minerals and precious metals hydrometallurgy refining (HPAL & POx).

Intended Audience:

The intended audience is technical professionals at pressure hydrometallurgy design firms and owner organizations. Consultants, academics, and manufacturers in the same field are a secondary audience.
