About the Format
The Big Ideas session will be presented in a fast-paced format. Each speaker will have approximately 8 minutes to give their pitch and convince the audience.
This session will occur on Tuesday, August 20, 2024.

What's Your BIG Idea?
The Big Ideas Session for COM 2024 will follow the conference theme: Clean Technologies for a Materials-Intensive Future.
Any ideas related to the various symposia are welcome.
Here are some suggested topics:
- How will we decarbonize our industry?
- New technologies that will make our industry cleaner?
- Have you or your company shelved technologies in the past, however, you now feel that their time may have come?
- Have you come across an old patent that never came to fruition due to various reasons (economics? couldn’t scale up the process? etc.) but you think that it could be used in today’s environment?
- Do you have a problem that you think the audience can help you with?
Your submission should answer the following:
- What is your Big Idea? (Title of submission)
- Description of your Big Idea. (100-word limit)
- In what way does your Big Idea support the theme of the conference? (50-word limit)
The deadline to submit an idea was April 5, 2024. The submission form is now closed. Authors will be notified in May if they are accepted into the session.
